WhiskerWatch Launches Research-Informed Platform for Community Cat Mapping and Lost Cat Recovery

Olympia, WA — February 23, 2026

WhiskerWatch today announced the release of its community cat mapping platform, designed to help neighborhoods log sightings, improve visibility into local cat activity, and support lost cat reunification efforts. The app combines community-submitted observations with structured data fields to make recurring patterns easier to identify over time.

WhiskerWatch is built around a simple premise: community cat activity is often visible to residents but invisible in aggregate. By standardizing how sightings are recorded, including time, place, and traits, the platform helps volunteers, caregivers, and rescue teams move from isolated reports to actionable neighborhood context.

“We built WhiskerWatch to turn neighborhood observations into practical community coordination, and we want to map the street cats of the world!”

Research-Oriented Product Design

WhiskerWatch’s product model is informed by field practices in community animal care, including Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) coordination and lost pet search workflows.

Multilingual Access and Global Participation

WhiskerWatch supports multilingual participation to make neighborhood reporting more accessible across communities. The long-term vision is to support local caretakers, rescuers, and residents in cities around the world through a shared, structured map of urban cat activity.
